{"id":3422,"date":"2021-03-08T14:15:48","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T13:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.gocept.com\/?p=3422"},"modified":"2021-03-08T14:15:48","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T13:15:48","slug":"earl-zope-invites-to-sprint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.gocept.com\/2021\/03\/08\/earl-zope-invites-to-sprint\/","title":{"rendered":"Earl Zope invites to sprint"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Already nearly two years went by after Earl Zope got his permanent permit to live in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.gocept.com\/2019\/05\/10\/celebration-zope-4-final-release\/\" target=\"_blank\">Python 3 wonderland<\/a>. He enjoys his new life, the many new friends he made and the old ones who also moved to the Python 3 wonderland. Life could be so happy and so easy but there are always some disruptions appearing and shadows of the past showing up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>the automatic verification for Earl Zope and all of his staff broke \u2013 aka the continuous integration system for Zope and its dependencies has to be changed from TravisCI to GitHub Actions<\/li><li>the laws, regulations and instructions have to be adapted to the Python 3 wonderland standards \u2013 aka still large parts of the documentation are outdated: they are describing Zope 2, and should get an update to match Zope 5<\/li><li>Python 3 wonderland rapidly changes and develops: each year there will be changes Earl Zope has to handle \u2013 aka Python 3.10 is in its late alpha versions now and it is already known that there are changes in Zope&#8217;s dependencies necessary to support that new version<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So Earl Zope kindly asks for help with this troubles.\u2013 Or should he call them challenges? He invites to a two short sprints:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/de-DE\/Zope-Sprint\/events\/276811967\" target=\"_blank\">Friday, 23rd of April 2021<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/de-DE\/Zope-Sprint\/events\/276811983\" target=\"_blank\">Friday, 2nd of July 2021<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Both sprints will be remote-only due to the unclear pandemic situation.
