Even though several people had signed up and said they wanted to come, at first none of the guests seemed to arrive. But after an hour and braving some ugly traffic jams on the way here, a few did make it. We&#8217;re happy you came to visit us, guys!<\/p>\n<p>In the unconference part, these were the topics we talked about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Using message queues to structure complex systems<\/li>\n<li>Deploying applications and the <a href=\"http:\/\/12factor.net\">12-factor app<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Toolkits for mobile applications (e.g. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.appcelerator.com\/\">Titanium Appcelerator<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.appmobi.com\/\">appMobi<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>JavaScript and i18n (see for example <a href=\"http:\/\/www.obviel.org\/\">Obviel<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We had a good time (and the BBQ was tasty), so we&#8217;ll definitely want to do something like this again; here&#8217;s to hoping some more people will join us next time!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We invited\u00a0developers and sysadmins to join us for talking shop and barbecuing last Friday.
